Navigating the college preparation, selection and entry process can be confusing. So many choices, steps, requirements, and college jargon. It can be overwhelming!

I believe that college and career decisions are not separate activities. Knowing WHAT you may want to do for a career is just as important as knowing WHERE you might want to go. My guidance approach includes developing self-responsibility and advocacy for you, the prospective student. My role is to serve as your guide and help you develop the skills and knowledge to advocate for yourself throughout the college application and scholarship journey, so that you can enter and be successful in the college that is the best fit for YOU.

Services are customized for each student, and may include any or all of the following:

  • College preparation for students currently in middle or high school
  • College exploration and best-fit process for selecting prospective colleges
  • Development of customized timeline for college admission process
  • Identifying scholarship and financial aid opportunities
  • Building a resume for college and scholarship applications
  • Coaching on writing effective application and scholarship essays
  • Preparation for visits with college reps to your high school and for visiting colleges

With more than 25 years as a widely respected leader in higher education, I have a passion for helping students find success in the college that is just right for them. I’ve worked for a variety of public and private universities in Washington, Colorado, Oregon and Massachusetts, including the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). With practical experience in every facet of the college lifecycle, from admissions to graduation, and strong relationships with leaders at public and private universities, community and technical colleges, as well as experts in the field of higher education, throughout the state and across the country, I have the experience and expertise to guide you through this process with confidence and care.

I have a master’s degree from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and a bachelor’s degree and honors program certificate from Washington State University.
